Do you feel like you are lacking enough time in a day?

Do you feel like you need a 28 hour day instead of a 24 hour day? If you are like most people you feel like you have this over whelming amount of to-do’s that just can’t get throughout the day. So in this video I am going to talk about some strategies that will help you re-frame what’s reapply happening so you don’t feel like you are lacking in time.

 

Hi this is Doctor Steve Young, owner and founder of bodysolutions. So in general everyone on this planet has 24 hours a day. There is some people who get this much done and there are some people get this much done.

 

There are some people who feel they have plenty of time and there are most people feel they are lacking in time. So let’s talk about what is really happening. Say physiologically your to do list is theoretically is a never ending list.

Secret behind work life balance and time management

 

Let me explain, whenever you getting something done on your TO do list you brain wherever you live in just likes to fill it with stuff. if you look at your house, your apartment wherever you are living just take a look around. Is there is a room that is empty with nothing?

 

Is your spot or place is completely vacant? That probably isn’t, our brain work this way if you have some type of time you will probably just fill it stuff. And lot of that has to do with how we were brought up in this culture. Has to do with, you got to be doing, you got to be executing, and you got to be getting stuff done? A lot of time if you feel like just sitting around doing nothing, you almost feel a sense of guilt.time management and work life balance

 

I really should be doing something, and so one is recognizing that its okay to do nothing right? Because if you don’t let that believe go you will always sort of overfill your bucket of time that you have. So one thing is letting go of the sense, it’s okay kind of to do nothing.

 

Two it’s all about priorities when it comes to work life balance. Because imagine if you are like I don’t have time to exercise or I don’t have time to cook food for myself to eat healthy. Or I don’t have time to, take the time to may be mediate, clear my mind and de-stress and be healthy or to do some work.

Work life balance tips

 

Well you are really saying that those things are not high enough on my priority list because I have other things that are more important to do. So theoretically there is no such thing as I don’t have time. It’s just whatever you didn’t get to wants high enough on your To do list. You just have to bump it out.

 

If you are looking to improve your health, if you are looking to drop weight, if you are looking to improve your body you basically have to just write down what are your important things in life. Like make a list, if its work, family, health, finances all those things, just write it down.

 

And see what’s more important and what’s less important and rank it in order. In this way we can at least left brain wise we can see where is healthy in your priority list. If its too low, make a choice to bump it up. Because when you do that, you acknowledge that you basically find more time for your health.

 

Ultimately health is wealth right, if you are so busy in helping others, so busy working generating income to have money, because you feel money is happiness ultimately none of that matters. If you are extremely sick, cannot function and in too much pain to move. So health I wealth meaning, its my opinion that you can certainly choose to have healthy higher on your priority list.

 

In this way there is no sense of lack of time, you are just basically making it more important. You will make the time and find the time to cook, to exercise, to meditate. Because I guarantee you, if you look at national averages, on average an American watches TV for 4 hours a day. That’s the average, that’s a lot of time. Because you are so busy you need that distraction to not to think about your life. And maybe you take some of that time for your help.

 

(Do they have work life balance?.. I do not think so!)

 

There is always other places you can take time from and allocate to the things that feel more important to you.

 

So if you feel like you need more time, first step will be let go of the feeling of always be doing. Be okay with just being and two write down your priority list and see where is health in this list for you and try to make that choice, make it higher in that list.

 

In this way you can manage time and achieve the balance between work and life.

So Much Information, So Little Change

If you want to improve your health, drop body fat, control your weight, or attain your ideal body shape and size, you must look at your relationship with food. It’s not about a series of tips or tactics; it is about changing your approach to food itself.

In this video, I will help you completely revamp your approach to losing weight.  If you look on Amazon right now, you will find approximately 10,361 books on dieting. That’s mean there are over 10,000 different authors promoting thousands of different ways to drop weight.food for health and food for weight loss

And yet, over the past couple of decades, we have only been increasingly gaining weight according to the national average.  With more than enough information and new gyms opening all the time, we have all the resources we need to lose the weight.  So, what is the problem?

What Are Your Core Values?

I believe that no one is really considering the importance of their relationship with food. In life, we have core values that we operate by: honesty, open communication, hard work, etc.  We use them to manage our lives.

As decisions arise, we go back to our core values.  What are your core values regarding food? Without establishing these core values, we cannot manage our health.  All the weight loss tips out there will lead us nowhere if they are not based on or connected to our core values.

Here, we talk about three core values which, if you adopt them, will completely revamp your health without the struggle.

  1. Slow Rainbows.  Slow rainbows means eating a variety of colorful foods throughout the week, mainly fruits and vegetables. We want to eat this rainbow of foods slowly. When we eat food quickly, we tend to overeat, and we miss the connection with our food. Food just becomes a tool for quenching hunger, a fuel, something we have to do each day, rather than a relationship to savor and enjoy.Food is so essential for living that we need to consider it as part of our life. You can go through life single, but you cannot go through life without food. That’s why it’s so important to develop a relationship with food, tuning into the experience of both preparing and consuming it. When we enjoy the process of handling and savoring a colorful variety of foods, it will enhance our life and improve our health.
  2.  The 80/20 rule. If you spend 80% of your time eating healthy food, the other 20% does not matter. What do we consider healthy food? To determine this, just follow a simple rule. Any food that has been through a machine at some point is unhealthy. Ideally, the food we eat will come from the earth in its whole, natural state. Played out over a week, out of 3 meals a day for 7 days (21 meals), 17 should be healthy, or from the earth, and 4 can be unhealthy.
  3. There are no BAD foods. Apart from choking, food has never directly killed anyone. Food, in and of itself, is not inherently bad.  It is how we choose to consume it that creates problems.

These three core values help us avoid feelings of guilt and shame in relation to our food.  So many of the programs for eating are based on a do this, don’t do that mindset. When we violate that rule, we feel bad about ourselves or try to justify our behavior.  Regardless, our relationship with food is harmed, and we start to see it as a villain, rather than a friend that we need and enjoy. We separate ourselves from that program and begin to eat poorly because we have broken up with food.  The weight comes back, and we look for another program, and the cycle continues.

By identifying our core values with food, and adopting the values I present in this video, we can avoid that vicious cycle of weight gain and weight loss. Yes, we still need will power and dedication to eat healthy. By establishing healthy eating habits, eating well will eventually come naturally to you.

Healthy Food, Healthy You

Food for healthYou can sustain a lifelong relationship food that leads to good health, good body weight, and a body shape you want.  As you adapt these core values to your lifestyle, you will begin to see changes, but it will take time. You won’t get there in 12 weeks, or even 6 months.  It might take years, but the process develops permanence. Just like with any sport, you can’t go from beginner to professional overnight.  It takes years of muscle memory and habits to become great, but those skills will stay with you forever.

Quick weight loss programs, with instant transformations do not last. I have a separate video which talks more about that, but for now, focus on the fundamentals.  Develop those core values that will lead to a lifetime of good health.

Invisible efforts for weight loss

In this video you will learn something call invisible effort and why you need to understand this if you are trying to lose weight. Hi my name is Doctor Steve Young, owner and founder of bodysolutions. And also firm believer of Holistic Health and fitness. You see there are many things that you expect in life. You expect to pay taxes, you expect to age, you expect to get quick results and you expect immediate gratification.

New habits to lose body fat

 

Unfortunately we are programmed to think this way because all the marketing message say billions of dollars spent and you do not even realize that hitting you when you watch TV, open a magazine, driving and seeing billboards its programming you to expect immediate gratification and quick results.

 

And here is the problem, if you are trying to lose body fat or trying to lose weight fast, if you are trying to get in shape, if you are trying to improve your health. You actually may be doing the most perfect thing that you should be doing right now but because it’s not immediate gratification. Because the perfect routine you are doing right now you will not see results for another 6 weeks or may be even 6 months.lose body fat

 

You are going to question yourself, I need to do more. I need to do something different, I need change something, I need to add something, I need to take away something. And that would be called the invincible effort meaning if you are doing the right things, applying right efforts. But because the gratifications the results are not immediate you start to question what’s happening.

 

And I want to encourage you that if you have already implemented healthy behavior changes like eating healthier, drinking less sugar, eating more fruits and vegetables, snacking on the right things. Keep it up, don’t change. Stick with it, let that habit sink in and then develop new habit. Do not make a bunch of quick changes to lose weight on different things that is what the media wants you to think and believe so that you buy their product.

 

So the invisible effort for better life is essentially is stop that you are doing works right now that you don’t see right away. What I recommend that you do is keep it up. You have to have faith in the process and know that permanent weight loss, permanent body fat loss, permanent improvements in health just takes time. So stick with the routine, gradually improve your health, set short term behavioral goals and when you reach them set other short term behavioral goal.

 

It’s a process, enjoy the process. Ask yourself the right questions how can I enjoy eating healthier and make me happy? Not what can I cut out, what’s the boring food to eat. Ask yourself the right questions and you will get the right answers.

Will power for weight loss – weight loss motivation

I’m a big fan of getting BIG results without “sacrifice” or “hard work”. Now I don’t mean we should sit back and do nothing. My approach is to do what feel right and find the lowest hanging fruit to get the most benefits.

Having studied health for 25 years, I’ve learned that there is one key factor that is over looked in our health.

So, research in the recent literature has proven that willpower is like a muscle. You probably know this instinctively if you’ve ever dieted before. Its something that you apply: willpower to not eat this food and stay away from that food. But eventually that muscle gives. It weakens and you give in to the willpower.

 

Here’s the problem, no muscle can contract and last forever. At some point it fatigues, just like no willpower will last forever, at some point it will fatigue. What happens when it fatigues is that you will go back and binge on those foods that you spent so much time depriving yourself of.

 

In fact the longer you hold out and refrain from eating those foods you love the more the your will power fatigues. Yes, you do lose weight by holding back. Yes, you can “cheat” here and there. But what has been the outcome in the long run. Your weight climbs back up and you feel horrible. Every time you go through this cycle, your strength and motivation weakens and you are left with a sense of failure.

 

Now I suggest a much better approach to dieting. You want to look at the food that you are told you typically can’t eat, and change your relationship with the food. It’s not bad food. Sure it’s less healthy. You might be eating that food for other reasons, not just for nourishment. Maybe it’s for stress reduction or to reduce anxiety. These comfort foods actually release happy hormones in your brain when you eat them because of the high sugar content. So these foods work very well to make you feel happy!

 

Now how do you change your relationship with that food?

Well, it’s all in your mind. The next time you look at your piece of cake that you love, your favorite comfort food – maybe it’s a hot dog, a hamburger, nachos, pizza, all the unhealthy foods we should not eat too frequently, I want you to do this.

 

I want you to look at that food, and I want you to close your eyes and picture a time where you are having great difficulty, great sadness, great stress, and great anxiety, and know that this food literally contributing to that.

 

When you are trying to lose weight, your body image, how you feel, and your health directly contribute to how happy you feel and your success rate. While that food may give you happiness for the moment, you know long term, that food is not giving you long-term happiness.

Find your motivation to lose weight

Your happiness is within you the whole time because you are an amazing soul!

baby-164897_640So I want you to embody that, and think about that. Don’t go for the immediate gratification and how you feel at that moment. Before you eat it, think about what that food means for you life-long. Look at that in your mind, picture it: the feeling that you have, the colors that you see.

 

The pictures of you seeing yourself not losing weight and being stressed, and the feelings associated with not being able to lose weight. All of that is embodied in that food at that moment. When you do this, it will change your relationship with the food. You will no longer try to crave it for immediate gratification. You will now make better choices about that food for long term.

 

I want you to repeat this. I want you to put your favorite food in front of you and try to elicit those feelings about how it feels in the future. The stress and the negative feelings down to the very colors, the sounds, the picture of your body, I want you to repeat that process. Every time that you do, you are changing your relationship with your food, and that is much better than willpower.

 

It is like using willpower to stay in a bad marriage. Don’t do that. Change the relationship. Work with the spouse, in this case you work with the food. Hacking your health for Improvement and get healthy body?

Hacks for weight loss and healthy body

Everyone these days hacking everything. They are hacking their health for improvement, memory, their business, their life. in this video I want to talk about why I am not a big fan of hacking. Hacking in terms of whatever you are manipulating already involves you are taking places and may be you are finding an optimum way of doing something.

 

On the surface that sounds amazing right? You just sort of hack this and make tweak and get a major result from that hack. However let’s look closely what happening to your health when you decide to hack it. You are basically implementing these tools and tricks try to improve your health.health and fitness

 

For example may be you are putting something in your coffee in the morning trying to hack your energy levels in your health. May be you are hacking it bay drinking specific smoothies or recipes during the day. May be you are hacking it by using a sleep app by making your sleeping quality improve.

 

May be you are hacking your health and fitness,  by doing something special workout program that’s out there. However what’s really happening? What is lifelong sustainable health or healthy body and what does it involves? It involves improving your skill and relationship with yourself and health. Because it’s not just about tweaking a few things.

 

Imagine if I say I hack your marriage or relationship with your spouse or girlfriend. All you have to do is buy these set of roses, buy these gifts at this time and you have to do this at this day and your relationship will improve. That’s sound kinda silly right, because you are at the fundamental of or root problem if you do not have any issues with your relationship with your spouse or girlfriend it has to do with your communication and how open you are.

How to have healthy body and improve your health

 

And that actually takes practice to work on it and that’s the same with your health improvement.

 

If you are trying to improve your health, if you are trying to lose weight, if you are trying to build muscle, if you are trying to just live up above of abandoned energy level and then decreasing risks of cancer different disease. If you have a condition that you are trying to resolve without medication, the root cause of that a lot of time is your relationship with your own health.

 

That doesn’t involves hacking, you cannot hack relationships. It’s about understanding, I would like to use the word re-engineering. Because if you study any kind of engineering what has to happen? You study all the pieces and how everything works. And when you understand how everything works you engineer and create. Engineering is about creating new possibilities.

 

New structures and new things, it’s not about hacking. So I like the process of re-engineering your health and that’s about understanding what are the fundamentals of good health. And that is what you are about to learn in this site. There is all kind of information about what is the fundamentals of good health, you know what tare three core values of having a good relationship with food.

 

I will talk that about in a separate post, what are the fundamental movement skill level that your body has so you can work out properly. It’s not about using a program, its about what is the ideal movement program that matches your skill level. Or if you are trying to eat better, people ask me what are the best eating tips, have you hacked nutrition.

 

healthy food for helathy bodyYou cannot hack nutrition, you can look how are you eating now and make what’s called the progressive adaptive changes. Progressive adaptive changes, right meaning the next level of changes that best serves you. There is no random hacks that is just bunch of things you are doing that no one ever sticks with forever.

 

Try drinking your coffee with your fat forever, good luck with that. You do not hack, you look at where you at and you make the small incremental improvements and changes so they become new habits. And that how you permanently change and re-engineer your health. With this understanding I hope you are not trying to hack your health, you are taking time and effort building this improve relationship with health so you can gradually formulate the health that you want.

 

When you can gradually engineer the health, the healthy body that you want.

Holistic Health and Happiness

Let me explain to you what is holistic health and happiness process, I like to call it the H3 process. You see there are so many tactics are being recommended for you to get healthier to lose weight, to have better life’s, be happier and many of these tactical things in terms of what you should be doing are great but you may have implemented something yourself and have gotten results.

 

However if those results have not lasted for life long, if you feel that you have reverted back to when you did not implemented those tactics there is something else that we can work on. And that’s going to be the H3 process.
In this process we basically the H3 process involves the entire hierarchy of how do you change, permanently change so you get the results you want. Lets go through each of those things one by one.

 

At the very top here, you have your values, your values define who you are. They are the root decision makers of your brain that says in this situation how are you govern. How are you going to choose what to do in this situation? Those are your values, those could be being honest, being forthright, loving, and compassionate, some of those are your values.

 

Underneath those values are your beliefs. Your beliefs are basically how do you frame what is happening in the world right? And your beliefs are such as people aren’t any good, people are evil, I am a dictatue sugar that’s a belief. Now your belief at the lower level will dictate your perceptions.

 

You see, reality is our brain only perceives approximately only 5% of reality. Right now as you are watching this video you are probably not watching the screen, or the dust that’s on your screen, or if you are watching this on your phone may be how you are holding your phone or iPad right now. Or how your fingers right now are oriented or the marks on your fingers.

 

Like all the little details your brain is not paying attention to, it can’t because yo will go crazy. So knowing that we can only see about 5 % of reality and knowing that your beliefs in what you choose to see around the world controls your perception. I have this picture here, imagine this is reality this all the red. And this little tiny dot is you can see through.

 

And by changing your beliefs and by only changing your beliefs that how you can choose where to move this dot. Where to move this dot, where to pay attention to. And this will be extremely important as we move down. So keep that in mind that you beliefs control your perception.

 

Basically once you see something, your beliefs chooses to see that, you are gonna off course the follow through you are going to have thoughts about it. What are your thoughts about, what are your internal dialogues that you have in regards to what you just experienced and saw.

 

And your thoughts basically just becomes your reality and the reality affects the next step which is your action. What are you going to do in response of what you saw based on what you interpreted this on your reception and the dot that you look through, reality and that’s going to control your actions.

 

Interestingly it’s a feedback mechanism, your action then has a certain response. Someone talks at you with a certain way, you perceive a certain meaning that becomes your reality. You have thoughts wooh, that meant this and then you take action in response of that. And the action now your body just says what did I just do?

 

What was the action for that was feedback loop to your perceptions which is off course is based on your beliefs. Recognizing this is important as we will talk about in few seconds. When you actions are in this process what you figure out is that imagine when you drive to work or when you go to some place where you typically go to. You may have this you got there almost in autopilot, you did not really know how you got there, and you just got there.

 

You did not paid attention to all the details, believe it or not in life we operate on mostly what we call habits. On auto pilot, you have this habits to response habits to things to do. So it’s the habits that gives us the results that we have in our lives.HOlistic health thinking

 

In habits are off course responses to repeated actions. If you continue to repeat a few actions your brain is like, let me not micro manage that. Let me turn that into an habit so that its on autopilot. In this way I can use my executive brain, my functional brain to make other decision. Your repeated routines essentially becomes habit and so another part which is delegated.

 

Its almost like outsource if you are into business, basically take the load of your thinking brain. Interestingly many of the things you want to improve like your health, your happiness, your business anything its really all about addressing your habits.

 

Yet you cannot address our habits unless you think about your actions, the thoughts, the belief then the values, they all work together. And why this in important, if we take a look at here, these 5 things, your values, beliefs, though, action and habits together make the relationship that you have.

 

Your relationship with yourself, your relationship with food, and your relationship with what I call contribution and then your relationship with the world.

 

As of you want to adapt and use the H3 process and having this Holistic Health and Happiness you want to look at what is your relationship with yourself. Ultimately that’s going to dictate your happiness. If your relationship with yourself is something along the lines of this like I am busy with work, family all those responsibilities, something has to give.

 

Something has to sacrificed, and that is typically me time. The self-care, self-love time. If that’s the type of relationship that you have with yourself then that relationship will lead to many actions, many beliefs and many habits. And that result of that type of relationship with yourself is typically you get sick, you get injuries, your body and your mind, everything kind of beaks down.

 

Because you are basically saying all those things are really important you are the thing that’s going to give. If you are looking to improve, decrease injuries and decrease things that happens to your body. It’s not about the stretches or the actions, those tactical things help but those pattern will repeat unless you address the relationship with yourself by realizing this and working through each steps of this.

 

holisctic health foodAnd as it relates to food, if you feel like you want to lose weight or you want to gain muscle or you want to change your body. Your relationship with food ultimately dictates your response with food right? If you casino online are trying t manipulate proteins, calories, carbohydrates, go on certain diets and different programs to follow, different books all those things are tactical. However if your relationship with food is not addressed things will never be permanent.

 

I will give you an example, we have talked to people here and one person shared with me that his relationship with food is he uses food as a way to get back at his mom because his mom and he did not get along. And it was his tool and he would use to say I am being rebellious and I am not going to listen to you so you would a lot of unhealthy food.

 

Even though his mom as saying don’t eat unhealthy food. So his relationship with food was like hate love relationship where he uses as way to gain control. Now no matter what program this person goes on the weight will always be a struggle. Because his relationship with food was not wand of nurturing and kindness and deep loving open communication relationship that you have with a person.

 

What relates to contribution I do not call work. When you are born at some point you become independent you contribute to the world, you contribute value. Whether be some kind of profession, knowledge or just your presence.

 

It’s a contribution to the society, the reason I do not want to call it work because the W word is typically not perceive as something positive right?

 

Then you do some work and off course then you can play, I just call it contribution. If you have this amazing relationship n how you are going to contribute to the world by finding your passion, you will never have to work again. It never feels hard. So that relationship is what you are going to do to contribute to the world by finding and connecting to the passion and finding that contribution.

 

Last is your relationship with the world. How you perceive what is happening in the world. This is a tough one, because in the media if you happen to watch a media. It says tha world is horrible, right? Negative news gets you to watch the news. And you have this perception that the world is crazy, chaotic and horrible things are happening.

 

And all these noise, however that sorts of affects your values and belief and the off course affects your habits and then everything else. It’s sort of a circular pattern.

 

So I choose you to question what your relationship with the world is. When you address this relationship with self, food contribution and world and understanding that it all relates to this. This is the H3 process. So on this site I have many videos and many pages addressing very specific things. Very breakdown and detailed these things.

 

So I encourage you to go to the site and consume the materials that best serves your health and your happiness. So I believe that as you apply effort towards this, understanding this, this is the foundation of having this holistic health and happiness. And that’s called the H3 process.

 

There are many programs out there that would define how do you paint this amazing picture of yoru life. I feel like this understanding of this process is the vehicle that you use to get there. Does it makes sense? Or you still want to make this amazing vision of your life. more information or study shows it that its not just about picturing future and having this amazing picture.

 

Its actually more effective, based on psychological research its actually the picture is what you need to do to get there. Mentally practice the process of getting there is much better than painting the end result. So this process is a great vehicle, a great way to how to get to your amazing, fulfilled, empowered happy life.
